October 2nd is the International Day of Non-Violence. Swap one phrase for a day →

It started with a phrase.

“Let’s get to the meat and potatoes.”

One day an executive said it in a meeting. There were people at the table who don’t eat meat, and mid-sentence the phrase went back to being about food.

So they swapped one word:

“Let’s get to the tofu and potatoes.”

The room laughed, and it became a regular feature at meetings.

Then we started noticing other phrases.

We use familiar expressions every day without thinking about the pictures inside them.

The meaning is clear.
But look twice, and there’s often another picture there.

That’s what Tofu & Potatoes is about.

Noticing the words we usually don’t notice.

What will you do with what you notice?

Keep the phrase.
Try another.
Or simply see it differently next time.

You decide.
